Crossing Paths – Episode 12: Dirty Martini – Part 1

It’s Tuesday evening. After a long day at work, Helen takes Clara up on her offer to go out for a drink at The Steel Fox, a popular cocktail bar. The place is already buzzing when they walk in.

Waiter: Hello there.

Clara: Hello, table for two?

Waiter: Sure, this way… There’s a table over there in the corner or you can take this one here.

Clara: Great, we’ll take the one in the corner.

Waiter: Cool. I’ll bring the menus in a moment.

Clara: Thanks.

Helen: Wow, a bit crowded.

Clara: Yeah, that’s normal here.

Helen: Do you come here often?

Clara: Just from time to time.

Waiter: Here are the menus.

Clara: Thanks.

Helen: Thank you.

Helen: Hm, I don’t know what I’m having.

Clara: They make an amazing piña colada.

Helen: Let me see.

Clara: Maybe a cosmopolitan?

Helen: Maybe… Actually, I know what I’m having.

Clara: Oh? What?

Helen: I never told you this, but I really love James Bond movies.

Clara: A martini!

Helen: Yep. And believe it or not, I’ve never had one.

Clara: Okay… just please don’t say, “Shaken, not stirred.” I’d have to pretend I don’t know you.

Helen: I promise.

Waiter: Alright, have you decided?

Clara: I’ll have a piña colada.

Helen: A martini for me.

Waiter: Great. Would you like your martini regular or dirty?

Helen: Make it… dirty.

Waiter: Sure thing. I’ll be right back.

Helen: Thank you.

Clara: Thanks.

Clara: Dirty martini?

Helen: I panicked! I have no idea what that means.

Clara: Well, it’s not on the menu, so… I guess we’ll find out soon.

Helen: I guess we will.
